The 15/27 underwater acoustic modems and USBL transceivers with a wide-angle (120 degrees) transducer beam pattern are depth-rated devices for long-range transmissions, providing data transfer rates up to 9.2 kbit/s over a 6000 m range.

The beam pattern with wide-area coverage is optimal for vertical and slant transfers to/from stationary systems.

Depth rating and operating frequency ensure great performance for long-range transmissions between the seafloor and the surface.

The applications include:

  • Mid- and long-range operations in vertical or slant channels

  • Underwater observatories

  • Underwater acoustic sensor networks

15/27 models are available in the following product lines:

  • S2C R - highly configurable standard build, optionally as OEM without housing

  • S2C R USBL - highly configurable build with integrated USBL antenna for positioning, optionally as OEM without housing
