Applying for an export license

Export restrictions

Some equipment requires an export license to be exported outside of the European Union.

The following devices are classified as dual-use:

  • S2C 7/17, S2C 7/17D, S2C 7/17W Hydroacoustic modems, LBL, USBL

  • S2C 12/24 Hydroacoustic modems, LBL, USBL

  • S2C 48/78 Hydrocoustic modems, LBL, USBL

  • S2C HS Hydroacoustic modems, LBL

Please note this list is not exhaustive. Additional equipment may be subject to this restrictions too.

Applying for an export license

To apply for an export license, the end-user of the equipment has to provide some documentation:

  • end-user certificate, printed on the end-user's letterhead, signed and stamped. Here you can find the template for the end-user certificate.

  • company profile (one page description of main activities, contact information, in company's letterhead and signed/stamped) for the end customer

  • company profile (one page description of main activities, contact information, in company's letterhead and signed/stamped) for the importer, if different than the end-user

  • end-users in China need additionally an IMPORTER STATEMENT ON END-USER AND END-USE. This can be obtained from:

The application process can take upwards of 3 months, while the authorities determine if the equipment can be exported. To avoid any delays, submit the required documentation as soon as possible.
